Happy 96th Birthday Zsa Zsa.

Although I'm a fan of the original and better John Huston version of the film Moulin Rouge from 1952, I can't say I was overly enamoured by the portrayal of Jane Avril by Zsa Zsa Gabor whose 96th Birthday it was yesterday

However, that said, it must not be ignored that her portrayal of Jane Avril did project her back into the consciousness of many people who by 1952 had forgotten to some extent the dancing stars of the 1890s Belle Époque days of Paris.

So to that end I say Happy 96th Birthday Zsa Zsa!
