Paris Return.9/11/2011 In 5 days time I will be returning to Paris for a long weekend stay in Montmartre to recharge my batteries. Needless to say I will be paying my usual respects to Jane Avril and Oscar Wilde who rest in peace at Père Lachaise cemetery situated in the 20th arrondissement, of Paris.
Coming so soon after attending the Courtauld Gallery in London for the Toulouse-Lautrec and Jane Avril: Beyond the Moulin Rouge exhibition will make it a poignant visit. It’s wonderful that 68 years after her death Jane is still remembered fondly in this way in the city she visited and performed way back in 1896. The exhibition has rightfully paid tribute to her and been rewarded with nothing but glowing reviews (my own included - refer to earlier blog entry) and excellent attendance figures: - “A mouth watering exhibition...” Daily Telegraph “...this is one of the best small exhibitions of the year...” Independent “...a cracker of a show.” Time Out Did you attend the Courtauld Gallary for the exhibition? If so, please feel free to share your experience. Craig

Hi Craig, Im SO GLAD to see the new photos of Jane, they are gorgeous! Also glad to see new versions of some of the other ones. Im really happy you got to see the exhibition, and that you are in Montmartre now enjoying yourself.

Hi Maria - Glad you enjoyed the photos! There are more to come in the days ahead once I'm assured in my own mind they are of the best quality. The exhibition was wonderful and in fact saw the remainder of Toulouse-Lautrec's work featuring Jane Avril in the Musée d'Orsay just last Saturday which was fantastic!
